Anxiety Therapy in Glasgow

Anxiety Therapy in Glasgow

Anxiety can be exhausting. You might feel constantly alert, stuck in your head, or caught in cycles of worry that don’t ease even when life looks “fine” from the outside. Many people I work with are capable, thoughtful, and self-aware — yet still feel overwhelmed by anxiety.

I offer anxiety therapy from my practice in Shawlands, Glasgow, and online across Scotland.

How anxiety often shows up

Anxiety doesn’t look the same for everyone. You may recognise some of the following:

  • Constant worry or rumination

  • A sense of threat or unease that won’t settle

  • Panic, tightness in the chest, or physical tension

  • Overthinking conversations, decisions, or future events

  • Feeling responsible for preventing things going wrong

  • Avoidance, people-pleasing, or pushing yourself too hard

You don’t need a diagnosis to seek support. If anxiety is interfering with your life, therapy can help.

How I work with anxiety

I use an integrated, trauma-informed approach, adapting the work to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all model. Depending on what’s most helpful, this may include:

  • CBT to understand anxiety cycles and reduce unhelpful patterns

  • Schema Therapy to explore deeper emotional themes that keep anxiety going

  • EMDR where anxiety is linked to past experiences that still affect you

We work at a pace that feels manageable. The aim isn’t to force anxiety away, but to help you feel steadier, clearer, and more able to live alongside uncertainty.

Private therapy compared with NHS support

Some clients come to see me after NHS therapy, while others are on waiting lists or looking for a different kind of space.

Working privately allows:

  • No waiting lists

  • Regular, consistent sessions

  • Flexibility in length and approach

  • Time to explore underlying patterns, not just symptoms

There’s no pressure to “get better quickly” — the work is collaborative and respectful of your limits.
