FAQs about Cognitive Therapy and Schema Therapy
How long are therapy sessions?
Sessions are usually 50 minutes. This gives us time to explore what’s going on for you without feeling rushed, while also keeping the focus clear.
I also offer 25-minute sessions (£x45). These shorter appointments can be useful as focused check-ins, with more structured work given between sessions.

Yes. We recognise that neurodivergent clients often benefit from a more flexible approach to therapy.
Sessions can be adapted to suit differences in attention, processing style, emotional regulation and communication. Together we agree how best to work so therapy feels collaborative, practical and suited to you.
Absolutely.
Some people prefer weekly sessions, while others attend fortnightly or work in focused bursts around a specific goal. We discuss your preferences and review them as therapy progresses.
Our aim is to create a plan that works for your circumstances while maintaining effective treatment.

No.
Many people seek therapy because they feel stuck, overwhelmed or notice recurring emotional patterns rather than because they have a formal diagnosis.
An assessment will help us understand what is happening and identify the most appropriate treatment.
We believe therapy works best when it is collaborative rather than prescriptive.
Rather than following the same programme for everyone, we work with you to understand your goals, preferences, strengths and lived experience.
Therapy is adapted to your individual needs, drawing on evidence-based approaches such as CBT, EMDR and schema therapy.
Many clients tell us they value having a therapy plan that feels personalised, practical and flexible.
Yes. Many of our clients have had previous counselling or therapy but are looking for a more structured, evidence-based approach. We tailor treatment to what has and hasn't worked previously and build a plan that fits your current goals.
