Professional Referrals & Psychological Therapy
Professional Referrals & Psychological Therapy
Connection Psychotherapy provides specialist psychological therapy in Glasgow and online for adults referred by healthcare professionals, organisations, insurers, solicitors and case managers.
Our clinicians offer CBT, EMDR, Schema Therapy and integrative psychotherapy, with treatment shaped around the person rather than a single diagnosis or protocol.
We work with people experiencing anxiety, trauma, burnout, emotional difficulties, longstanding patterns, relationship difficulties and the effects of adverse or emotionally neglectful experiences.

A Clinic for More Than One Kind of Therapy
Some people benefit from a focused course of CBT. Others need work that goes beyond symptom management and explores the emotional patterns, relationships and earlier experiences that continue to shape how they feel and cope.
Our team includes clinicians working across CBT, EMDR, Schema Therapy, trauma-focused approaches and integrative psychotherapy, allowing us to consider what kind of treatment is most appropriate for the individual.
This is particularly useful when someone has already tried therapy, understands their difficulties intellectually, or continues to struggle with recurring patterns despite functioning well in other areas of life.

Medico-Legal Psychological Treatment

We provide psychological assessment and treatment for clients referred following road traffic accidents, workplace incidents and other compensable psychological injuries.
Our medico-legal service includes structured assessment, evidence-based treatment, progress communication and outcome monitoring for solicitors, insurers and case managers.

Therapy for Healthcare Professionals
Doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals can experience considerable psychological pressure while continuing to function at a high level professionally.
We offer confidential therapy for difficulties including burnout, anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, emotional exhaustion, responsibility, moral distress and the impact of working in demanding healthcare environments.

Referrals for Individual Therapy
Professionals can also refer adults experiencing:
Anxiety and worry
Including generalised anxiety, panic, health anxiety and persistent overthinking.
Trauma and difficult experiences
Including PTSD symptoms, childhood adversity, emotionally neglectful experiences and events that continue to feel unresolved.
Emotional patterns
Such as over-responsibility, people-pleasing, emotional disconnection, perfectionism, self-criticism, withdrawal or difficulty knowing and expressing emotional needs.
Burnout and high-functioning distress
For people who appear capable and successful externally but feel overwhelmed, disconnected or exhausted internally.
Neurodivergence and emotional wellbeing
Therapy can be adapted for adults with ADHD, autism or other neurodivergent profiles where emotional regulation, masking, overwhelm or longstanding patterns are part of the difficulty.
Our Approach
Good therapy is not simply about matching a diagnosis to a technique.
We aim to understand what is happening now, what keeps it going, and how the person’s experiences and emotional patterns may have developed over time.
Treatment may be relatively focused or may involve deeper work where longstanding patterns, attachment experiences or trauma are contributing to current difficulties.

Why BABCP accreditation matters
All of our CBT therapists are BABCP accredited. You can check your therapist’s current accreditation on the official BABCP CBT Register.
Our CBT therapists are BABCP accredited, meaning they have completed recognised specialist CBT training, supervised clinical practice and competency assessment, and maintain their accreditation through ongoing clinical work, supervision and professional development.

They work with evidence-based psychological models and established treatment approaches, while adapting therapy to the individual. CBT here is structured and informed by research, but it is not a rigid one-size-fits-all programme.

Fees
CBT sessions are £120 with Gem Thomson and £110 with associate CBT therapists, for 50 minutes.
